The Pros and Cons of Milk Feeders on a Farm in New Zealand
Milk feeders are devices that are meant for feeding many calves milk on a new Zealand farm at once, so each one doesn’t have to be fed individually from a bottle. But like every device out there on the market, these milk feeders have pros and cons.
The cons are that many of these older feeders are very heavy and can be difficult to install. There’s also the issue of the rubber teats that fit over the ends of the feeder hoses coming off the bottom and not being exactly like an udder. Calves won’t drink out of something like that, which defeats the purpose of the milk feeder in the first place.
However, the pros are numerous. It saves a tremendous amount of time when the device works properly, which just means you need to purchase high quality milk feeders for your farm.
